Research on Component Parameter for a Dual-Motor Coaxial Propulsion System Used in an Electric Bus

摘要

This paper conducted a parametric study on the impact of motor parameters of dual-motor coaxial propulsion system used in an electric bus. The feasible region of the two motors power was defined by the total system power and motor power ratio. For each solution, the dynamic programming (DP) algorithm was applied to obtain the best economic performance and a forward simulation was used to calculate the dynamic performance. To meet the demand of electric bus running on the urban road, CCBC driving cycle was considered. Analysis results showed that the energy consumption firstly decreases and then increases when the ratio of traction motor power increases. Meanwhile, the dynamic performance is inversely proportional to the ratio of traction motor power. Comprehensive considering dynamic and economic performance, the optimal power ratio of traction motor is around 0.65 under CCBC driving cycle. The result of this paper can provide reference for determining the design domain of two motors.
