摘要
Highly aligned silica fibers had been synthesized by a chemical vapor deposition technique. It was found that the growth of the aligned silica fibers might be related to the flow of the carrier gas and the ball-milled process of raw materials by comparative experiments. Aligned SiO2 fibers were characterized by XRD and SEM. The results revealed the as-synthesized fibers are amorphous states and the average diameter of the fibers was 700 nm. PL spectrum of the as-synthesized aligned silica fibers showed two blue light peaks at 450 nm and 415 nm respectively, suggesting their potential applications in light and electron emission devices.
