Preparation and characterization of MoO₃ with different morphologies

MoO₃ crystals with different morphologies were prepared by hydrothermal method under different temperatures and for different reaction time. Surface morphologies, phase structures, FT-IR spectra and thermal properties of the products were investigated by SEM, XRD, FT-IR spectroscopy and DSC-TG analysis, separately. With time increased to 48 h, the surface morphology became smoother and more uniform in width distribution. The morphology of MoO₃ changed from thread to belt with temperature rose from 100°C to 150°C.
