Power Source Planning Considering Unit Inertia Level under the Retirement of Thermal Power Units

摘要

The orderly retirement of traditional thermal power units is the key to implementing the dual-carbon goal in China. However, the retirement of thermal power units will lead to a decrease in the inertia level of the unit, making the power system face frequency security problems. In this paper, the requirement of unit inertia level is considered in the process of retirement of thermal power units and power source planning. Firstly, the traditional thermal power unit retirement model, the system minimum inertia demand model, and the power source planning model are established. Then, taking the IEEE 24-bus unit as an example, the results of unit retirement and power source planning are given. Finally, the effectiveness of the model is evaluated from the perspective of system inertia.
