Nested Inter-element Spacing Constrained Array

摘要

Due to the mutual coupling effect, the performance of direction of arrival estimation and adaptive beamforming can be reduced to a certain extent. The interelement spacing constraint (ISC) array can maintain low mutual coupling via constraining the minimum inter-element spacing. However, the ISC array has no closed-form expressions for the sensor positions, so designing such arrays for large number of sensors is difficult. In this paper, we will design a nested interelement spacing constrained array (N-ISC) using the ISC and other sparse arrays to meet the requirement for the large number of sensors. Numerical simulations are conducted to verify the superiority of the N-ISC array.
