Mechanical properties and thermal decomposition of PBAMO/GAP random block ETPE

摘要

Poly(3,3-bisazidomethyl oxetane) (PBAMO) and glycidyl azide polymer (GAP) were terminated by diisocyanate (TDI) and then extended by 1,4-butanediol (BDO) to synthesis the PBAMO/GAP random block ETPE. The mechanical properties and thermal decomposition behavior of the ETPE were studied by tensile test, differential scanning calorimetry test and thermogravimetric analysis (TG) test. And the thermal decomposition mechanism was studied by TG/Fourier transform infrared/mass spectrometry system. The results indicated that the mechanical properties of the ETPE worked best at w(TDI + BDO) = 30 %. In addition, the ETPE had two decomposition processes, and the gas products mainly come from the first degradation stage of azide groups.
