General and efficient parallel approach of FE/BI/MLFMA

摘要

A general and efficient parallel strategy is proposed to parallelize the highly efficient hybrid method of finite element/boundary integral/MLFMA (FE/BI/MLFMA). Several approaches with distinct numerical characteristics are made of to solve the matrix system generated by FE/BI/MLFMA in its sequential implementations. Based on DA algorithm in the sequential FE/BI/MLFMA, the presented parallelization is worked out by employing the multi-frontal method and MLFMA to parallelize respectively, the matrices related with finite-element method and boundary integral equation method. Programming and numerical experiments of the proposed parallel approach are carried out in the high performance computing platform CEMS-Liuhui at the Center for Electromagnetic Simulation (CEMS), Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Numeral experiments demonstrated that FE/BI/MLFMA is successfully parallelized by the proposed strategy and its computational capacity is greatly improved without losing any accuracy, efficiency and generality.
