Effects of defects on mechanical behavior of lattice materials

摘要

The effects of the vacancy point defects on mechanical behavior of planar lattice materials for three isotropic topologies: the regular hexagonal honeycomb, the regular triangular lattice and the Kagome lattice, are investigated, and the affected region of the Kagome lattice is found to be much larger. An analytical model based on an equivalent method and superposition principle is established for the Kagome lattice. The finite element (FE) simulations are carried out to validate the analytical model, and good agreement is found between the numerical and analytical results on the longitudinal displacement at the defect position.
