摘要
The two-impulse capture trajectories into halo orbit around a liberation point in the sun-Mars system were investigated by adopting the type I and type II branches of stable manifolds. The two impulses connect a stable manifold and the hyperbolic trajectory with respect to Mars via a ballistic trajectory. The capture opportunities are searched by establishing the relation between the distances of the first four periapsis of the two-impulse trajectories and the Jacobi constants. Because of the lower periapsis altitudes of the type II stable manifolds, adopting the type II stable manifolds can obtain lower cost two-impulse capture trajectories than adopting the type I stable manifolds. The total cost of two-impulse capture trajectories are less than that of direct capture into corresponding stable manifolds from the hyperbolic trajectory.
