摘要
A new revised model that considers the contribution from heat convection and compress work was presented to study their effect on the accuracy in temperature calculations. The error caused by neglecting heat convection in EHL was not significant. The original thermal model did not consider the possible heat conduction between frictional surfaces, which might result in the irrational values of heat partition coefficients especially when the two bulk temperatures on two surfaces have a large difference. Thus, the model was modified by adding a conductive heat between two frictional surfaces. Energy equation controlled the temperature in lubricant. Heat conduction and shear heat were the primary terms in energy equation. This paper is presented at the 2003 STLE/ASME Joint International Tribology Conference (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 10/26-29/2003).
