Abstract

The paper is focused on the two-dimensional (2-D) direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation problem in monostatic MIMO radar, with one uniform linear array (ULA) as transmitter and two parallel ULAs as receiver. A polynomial rooting approach to closed-form 2-D DOA estimation is proposed given that the transmitting and receiving ULAs have the same inter-element spacing. A one-dimensional spectral peak searching procedure is also presented for the case under which the transmitting and receiving ULAs have unequal inter-element spacings. Simulation results are included to illustrate the performance of the presented methods.
