Abstract

Misalignment effects have significant impacts on the behaviors of water-lubricated bearings of ships. This work focuses on the influences of bidirectional misalignment effects. The new lubrication models with bidirectional misalignment effects are established. The investigation on the comparison among bidirectional misalignment effect, single-direction misalignment effect as well as alignment effect is launched. The variation laws and trends of static performances and dynamic characteristics under four groups of misalignment effects are clarified. The vibration signals are compared. The reliability and reality of the present algorithm is validated by the comparison between calculation results and experimental data. The research presents novel analysis methods for the further exploration of misalignment effect and provides the important instructions for the practical applications.
