Abstract

A dynamic simulation of the angle error signal is required for testing the performance of the monopulse antenna angle tracking system. This paper analyses the simplified model of the monopulse antenna beam pattern and the principle of monopulse antenna angle tracking system. The corresponding relation between antenna deflection angle and amplitude of the sum-difference signal in the antenna beam pattern is described. Also, this paper introduces a method of simulating the angle error signal based on "antenna deflection angle - attenuation" lookup table and digital attenuators.
