Abstract

This paper presents the design and assembling of a high integrated W-band T/R module operating in the frequency range from 92 to 94 GHz. The proposed T/R module consists of transmitting channel, receiving channel and a common channel, which are assembled by hybrid microwave integrated circuit technology. This design aims to realize high output power and receiving gain, as well as the miniaturization of the module. In addition, the insert loss can be decreased by the optimization for the waveguide to microstrip line transition and the bonding between chips and microstrip lines. The output power of the T/R module achieved a level of 24dBm, while the receiving gain of the T/R module is above 6dB.
