Abstract

Miniature tri-axis FOG is a new generation miniature-optical angle rate sensor based on Sagnac effect. It can sense the angle rate of three orthogonal directions simultaneously on space and has advantages of small volume, light weight and little power consumption. The principle and development of miniature tri-axis FOG at home and abroad were introduced; the adverse influence of fiber's small curve radius on miniature tri-axis FOG was analyzed. And a new methods for restraining this adverse influence were put forward to meet the requirement of engineering. Theoretical precision limit of miniature tri-axis FOG was obtained. Miniature tri-axis FOG was designed by optimizing optical system and tested according to GJB2426A-2004. These lay a good foundation for miniature tri-axis FOG's application in practice. Measurement results show that the main technical parameters of miniature tri-axis FOG can reach and even exceed the level of similar products abroad. More importantly, it greatly promotes application and development of miniature tri-axis FOG in China.
