Abstract

2,3 stage ternary GICs CuCl2-FeCl3-GICs were synthesized by the molted salt method. CuCl2, FeCl3 were used as the guest species and natural graphite (grain size from 1-10 μm) served as the host material. The paper introduces the method of synthesis. Crystal structure, surface appearance and the relative contents of elements were investigated with XRD, SEM and EDS. The electromagnetic properties of GBCs (graphite bi-intercalation compounds) intercalation reaction were measured and analyzed. The results show that CuCl2-FeCl3-GICs is a kind of new, light conducting material.
