Abstract

A fuzzy logic control strategy was applied to the management of vehicular hybrid power systems. The dynamic simulation models of the ultracapacitor and the power battery were established based on the experimental data, and the fuzzy logic control strategy and the logic threshold control strategy for hybrid power systems were put forward. Furthermore, the simulation results of the two control strategies were compared and analyzed under the Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule (UDDS) with the selective topology structure of hybrid power systems. It was suggested that the fuzzy control logic strategy could provide high power actively with the ultracapacitor, which may significantly improve the efficiency of hybrid power systems.
