Abstract

Based on the three-dimension Navier-Stokes equations closed with Spalart-Allmaras (S-A) turbulence model, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical simulation was used to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of stand-off air-to-surface dispenser. Through the simulation the flow field structures and computational aerodynamic characteristics were obtained. Computational aerodynamic characteristics were found to be in good agreement with wind tunnel test results. The numerical simulation results had been applied to analyze the aerodynamic characteristics and optimize the configuration of stand-off air-to-surface dispenser in engineering design.
