Abstract

A trans-isomeric dinuclear complex is synthesized by reacting ligand 4-((1H-pyrrol-2-yl)methylene-amino)-4H-1,2,4-triazole (pyrtrz) with [Fe(NCS)2] in methanol, i.e. trans-[Fe2(pyrtrz)5(NCS)4]·7MeOH (trans-1·7MeOH), which shows complete spin-crossover behaviour from the structural point of view and incomplete spin crossover due to the partial loss of guest solvent molecules.
