Abstract

This paper mainly focuses on the problem that whole layout of large scale information visualization is distorted seriously after focus+context interaction. We propose the space-optimized interactive method to reduce the whole layout distortion by redistributing the display space based on the original geometric layout. All nodes are still placed according to the original layout algorithm in new display space. Our method can enlarge the focus area and reduce the intersections of the points and lines. The layout of information still keeps clear. We apply this method to visualize the spread of disease, and the results show that our method achieves better visibility analysis.
