Simulation research on effect law of combustion and heat release characteristic in high power diesel engine

Abstract

The combustion system matching method of high power diesel engine was investigated. First, based on German MTU890 high power diesel engine, the structural parameters were fixed and the intake and the injection parameters were chosen. Then, cone angle of inner-chamber, diameter of outer-chamber, outlet angle of outer-chamber and ratio of inner-chamber to the whole of Double Swirl (DS) chamber were chosen as variables, the designing of DS chamber series was carried out. Finally, simulation research on the working process in-cylinder of high power diesel engine with cylinder diameter 110mm was finished. And the effect law of different chamber parameters in high power diesel engine combustion performance was concluded, which provided results for optimizing the parameters of the DS chamber and a way to match the parameters of the combustion system.
