Abstract
The sensitivity of clutter cancellation algorithm to transmitted signal waveform, which mainly focus on the noise frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FM-CW) and noise frequency-modulated pulse-wave (FM-PW) in noise radar system is investigated in this paper. Based on the concept of cross-ambiguity function, the consequence of clutter cancellation can be observed visually. Comparing FM-CW and FM-PW, the former and the latter have similar convergence speed and cancellation ratio for fixed cancellation algorithm. However, they are both sensitive to different cancellation algorithms, like frequency-domain least-mean-square (FBLMS), adaptive lattice filter algorithm. Concerning the convergence speed and cancellation ratio, the corresponding simulation experiments are implemented. The characteristic obtained from this paper can be applied to other FM-CW and FM-PW pseudo-random sequence.
