Abstract

this paper presents a method of scattering center (SC) modelling from geometrical model of target. In this method, the geometrical information of targets is firstly extracted from the meshed model of the targets; and then the parametrical model of SCs is built based on the local scattering mechanism and extracted geometrical information. This method does not need any numerical computation process; therefore, it can quickly build 3D SC models of a target. To validate the feasibility of this method, the Radar Cross Section (RCS) of an aircraft target simulated by the built model is compared with the results of full-wave numerical method. The results show the built SC model has high precision in simulating the RCS fluctuation of the aircraft.
