    Abstract

Evaluates the degree of complexity of business processes from the view of organizational roles' responsibility assignment. The extended workflow nets containing the role and data information is given. The role activity cohesion, data cohesion and role coupling analysis indices are presented to analyze the activities relation of each role. The role complexity evaluation method of business processes is proposed. Furthermore, an application example is given. When the process structure and role number are fixed, the activity assignment solution can be derived from the analysis of role complexity. The role complexity index measures the dynamic complexity degree of business processes, and guides the design and implementation of business processes.
