Abstract

To acquire true polarization scattering matrix (PSM) of target, the polarization performance of radar system is needed to be known. This paper proposes a measurement model for polarization error matrix. And in regard to the error caused by polarization basis mismatch, the measurement model is recast. A field-circuit co-simulation method is introduced to analyze the impact of polarization basis mismatch on the measurement results. The results show that the measurement of cross-polarization level and the amplitude of g V/g H (i.e. gain imbalance between two co-polarization channels) are deteriorated by the misalignment error, and the test of the phase of g V/g H is tolerated.
