Abstract

Based on the acoustic transfer vector concept (ATV), the application approach to structural acoustic radiated prediction using the ATV technology for I. C. engine was studied. Taking a four-cylinder diesel engine as an example, acoustic response such as the entire engine's radiation power, the field point sound pressure level and the panel acoustic contribution, radiation efficiency etc. was calculated. It shows that the ATV technology, based on the vibro-acoustic relationship between the engine vibrations and the acoustic pressure field, is an effective approach to quickly evaluate the vibro-acoustic response in the engine development process.
