Abstract

A method of obtaining the ultimate shock load according to the ultimate strength of equipment material is proposed to assess the shock resistance of equipment quickly. The concept of damage velocity spectrum is put forward. A cantilever-type warship-borne equipment is taken as an example to study the ultimate load characteristic. The calculation formula of damage velocity spectrum of the cantilever beam is deduced, and the value of damage velocity spectrum under different frequencies can be worked out. The research result shows that the method of using the ultimate damage velocity spectrum to characterize the ultimate load is practicable and feasible; the ultimate load of the cantilever-type warship-borne equipment is related to the natural frequency, location and the ultimate strength of material. Additionally, the relation can't be easily expressed by the explicit function.
