Abstract

In order to investigate the characters of high energy solid propellants initiated by shock waves, the Lagrange analytical experiment equipment was designed. The pressure histories at the different Lagrange places in the propellants were measured by a set of manganin gauges. The detonation pressure, the detonation velocity and the initiation distances of the propellants were analyzed. The shock initiation process of the propellant was numerically simulated by the calculated model of Lagrange analytical experiments, the material models of elastoplastic fluid dynamics and the reactive rate equation of ignition growth model. According to the experimental results, the parameters of the reactive rate equation of ignition growth model for the propellants were calibrated.
