Abstract

Stepped frequency chirp signal (SFCS) will inevitably introduce grating lobes during wideband synthesis processing, and system components as well as connection lines will introduce errors in the signal generation process. These errors will cause the grating lobes to deteriorate, making weak targets possible covered by grating lobes. To solve this problem, this paper first discusses the influence of waveform parameters on the grating lobe level, and then proposes the method of estimating the intra-pulse and inter-pulse magnitude error and phase error (MEPE) based on strong scattering point echoes, and conducting error compensation to achieve the purpose of grating lobe suppression (GLS). Both the simulation experiment and the processing results of the collected data by P-band uninhabited aerial vehicle radar verify the method.
