Abstract
In this paper, a passive acoustic localization system with spatial five-element acoustic sensor array based on sensor network is proposed. Time difference of arrivals (TDOA) based bearing estimation and iterative based error correction algorithm is adopted in each sensor node. The acoustic source position can be conducted through the information intersection with each other using pseudolinear estimator(PLE) based localization algorithm with a high accuracy in a given three-dimensional space (200 m×240 m×70 m), with the addition of GDOP-MSE optimization criteria based measurement nodes deployment. The experiment shows that the system could implement the source localization precision lower than 0.8 m in X and Y direction, and 1.5 m in Z direction.
