Abstract

Volume Visualization is a technique for demonstrating the object inside information in three dimensions, which has a good supporting role in ultrasonic testing. The research of ultrasound volume visualization is more focused on the medical field than on industrial field. This paper has summarized the recent advances in ultrasound volume visualization technology, including the classification and pre-processing of volume data, the algorithms of three-dimensional volume rendering, and analyzed the key technique of volume visualization in industrial ultrasound. The research of ultrasonic volume visualization on industrial will become a hot spot, with the non-destructive testing increasingly demanding in recent year, especially in the requirements of quantitative non-destructive testing.
