Abstract
A new technique for the durable flame retarding treatment of hydroxymethyl nylon-6 textiles with reactive flame retardants is put forward. The effects of various flame retarding finishings on nylon-6 textiles are discussed, from which suitable flame retardants and the optimum preparation technique are determined. The results of IR and elemental analysis show that the chemical bonds existing between the flame retardants and the products give a good handle to the textiles, revealing excellent properties on flame retardance and durability.
