Abstract

The preparation of W-type nanocrystalline hexaferrite powders by a stearic acid gel method has been investigated. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The magnetic measurements were carried out using a vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM) in a field of 8 k Oe. The dependence of specific magnetization and coercivity on Zn-Co content and annealing temperature is presented.
