Abstract

The preparation of W-type nanocrystalline hexaferrite powders by a new stearic acid gel method has been investigated. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The magnetic measurements were carried out using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) with an applied field of 6.37 × 105 Am-1. The dependence of the specific magnetization and coercivity on the Zn-Co content and annealing temperature is presented.
