Abstract

Preparation of the substituted barium ferrite BaFe12-2x(CoTi)xO19 ultrafine particles by stearic acid gel method were investigated. The average particle size, structure and magnetic properties were measured. At 650 °C the well crystallized BaFe12-2x (CoTi)xO14 ultrafine particles as small as 10 nm were also obtained. The magnetic properties vary with calcining temperature and grain size. The best magnetic properties have been obtained for the products calcined around 900 °C.
