Abstract
A hybrid cascaded converter topology is proposed and its operating principle and characteristics are analyzed. The capacitor voltage model is established and an operating strategy is proposed to control the capacitor voltage by absorbing and releasing the energy in converter. While the PWM is implemented with high efficiency, the capacitor voltage is dynamically maintained. The simulative results show that, with the proposed strategy, the output voltage of hybrid cascaded converter is greatly increased and the output waveforms are enhanced. By serializing the hybrid cascaded converters, even higher voltage can be got.
