Abstract
By ignoring the temperature change in the direction of oil-film thickness and regarding the calculation of oil-film temperature as a two-dimensional problem, the temperature distribution of oil-film in the plunger pair of an axial plunger pump is studied with numerical method. With the distribution of oil-film thickness given, the oil-film temperature distribution of plunger pair is obtained by the joint-solution of viscosity-temperature and viscosity-pressure relations, Reynolds equation and energy equation. The results show that the temperature rise calculated with two-dimensional adiabatic model is closer to tested value than traditional analytic method and the calculated temperature distribution well agrees to test results.
