Abstract

The pulse repetition interval (PRI)-staggered space-time adaptive processing (STAP) is one of reduced-dimension STAP methods, but it is still difficult to process in real time, because the large sample support requirement and the huge computational complexity will reduce the processing speed. The projection approximation subspace tracking (PAST) technique can improve the processing speed by exploiting recursive least squares (RLS). Therefore, the PAST is applied to improve the conventional PRI-staggered STAP method in this paper. Comparing with conventional PRI-staggered STAP method, the proposed method can reduce significantly computational complexity and sample support requirement, which is demonstrated by the simulations. Therefore, the proposed method is more suitable for real-time application in actual airborne radar.
