Modeling and performance analysis of workflow based on advanced fuzzy timing petri nets

Abstract

Time management plays an important role in workflow management systems. Aiming at describing all the uncertain time information existing in practical business process, this paper applied fuzzy sets theory to workflow time modeling and performance analysis and then presented an improved fuzzy timing workflow nets. Based on the reduction analysis of fuzzy time performance for several constructions of workflow models, a fuzzy time analysis and reasoning method was proposed and then a hierarchical algorithm for business process temporal reachable probability analysis was proposed. Finally, a case study illustrates that our method is feasible and efficient.
