Abstract
To estimate the noise characteristics of imaging systems and the given digital noisy images, the laboratory testing and blind estimation methods were taken. The simulation and laboratory testing results were given and the statistic model of random noise estimation was proposed. It was showed that the results of blind estimation agree well with the expected result of theoretic model. The blind estimation method especially performs well in the noise estimation of image with simple pattern and less textures.
