Abstract

In modern three-dimensional simulation system, the using of large-scale, detailed model makes the pc machine difficult to achieve real-time rendering, so a model simplification algorithm was proposed, and under the same resolution conditions, the algorithm maintained the appearance of the 3D model realistic. This algorithm based on Quadric Error Metrics, used the model surface classification, vertex normal vector offset and other constraints to achieve the desired effect.
