Maneuver target tracking algorithm based on edge detection

Abstract

The difficulty of tracking a maneuver target with uncertain color and form is analyzed. A real-time target tracking algorithm using the edge detection is presented. With the tracking algorithm presented here, we can track targets in different colors and forms automatically without any apriori knowledge. And we need not to check the target manually before tracking. The tracking speed can he as high as to 25 frame/s. The experimental results show that our algorithm has a lower time complexity and better performance. The tracking error is below 15 pixels, and the tracking precision can be as high as 96.8%.
