Abstract
A VR display module is tailored with directional display panel and liquid crystal meta-surface to make full use of light from the light source. The proposed method can effectively boost light efficiency by >2 times with negligible change in form factor. Both simulation and proof-of-concept experimental results are presented and discussed.
