Abstract

A novel compact leaky wave antenna based on Composite Right/Left Handed Transmission Line (CRLH) has been proposed and realized on the coplanar waveguide. The equivalent circuit of the proposed structure has been analyzed. The structure radiates at a high frequency of around 18-19GHz. The return loss and the insertion loss have been characterized. The 10dB return loss bandwidth is found to be 4.7GHz. Also, the dispersion characteristics and the group delay have been obtained by extracting the S-parameter values from the measured results. It can be seen that the simulation results are in good agreement with the measured result.
