Abstract

Phytochemical investigation of Thesium chinense Turcz.led to the isolation of seven compounds from the ethyl acetate extract using column chromatography and preparative TLC.The structures of these compounds were identified as, kaempferol-3-O-p-β-glucopyranosyl (1→2)-O-β-D-6- acetlyglucopyranoside (I), kaempferol-5-methylether (II), Apigenin-5-O- [-L-Rhamnopyranosyl- (1→4)-β-D-glucopyranoside] (III), kaempferol-3-O-glucoside (IV), apigenin -7-O-glucoside (V), kaempferol (VI) and 4′-hydroxy acetophenone (VII) using UV,1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and ESI-MS analysis. Compounds I, II, III and VII were isolated from this plant for the first time.
