Abstract

An optical approach to double the pixel density by using a Pancharatnam-Berry deflector (PBD), which generates two virtual shifted-pixel grids based on polarization-multiplexing, is present. A three-layer multi-twist PBD is fabricated, which can achieve high diffraction efficiency, broad bandwidth, and large incident angle in the visible spectral region.
