Abstract

Infrared-to-visible up-conversion nanoparticles Y2O3: Yb3+, Er3+ were synthesized by hydrothermal method utilizing reagents of Y2O3, Yb2O3 and Er2O3. The synthesized crystal structure and components were analyzed using X-ray diffraction apparatus. The results show that the nanocrystal belongs to cubic system. The nanocrystals are spherical particles with an average diameter of 20 nm, with the help of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) technology. The up-conversion fluorescence with green and red colors is obtained under 980 nm laser excitation and the intensity of luminescence would be changed with the doping ratio of Yb and Er elements.
