Abstract
Simulation-Based Acquisition (SBA) is a new acquisition approach. It facilitates the reuse of modeling and simulation tools as well as the resources within the various stages of acquisition programs. The purpose of adopting SBA is to reduce the time, resources, and risks of the acquisition process and to increase the quality of the acquired systems. A four-layer SBA collaborative environment for armored vehicles is developed. It consists of elementary resources, communication networks, simulation supports, and simulation tools. To perfectly implement the SBA collaborative environment for armored vehicles, three key research problems are discussed in this paper. They include data integration, model integration and process integration.
