Abstract

In this paper, a typical charge structure of wrapping explosively formed compound penetrator (WEFCP) model was established in AUTODYN-2D code. The formation and penetration process of WEFCP were calculated and analyzed. Based on the numerical simulation, the formation process has three phases which are compression, stretching and breaking; and the penetration process includes two phases which are perforation of precursor penetrator and expanding penetration of main penetrator. The feasibility of WEFCP mechanism is validated by contrastively analyzing wrapping part (inner core) pressure during formation and penetration process.
