Abstract
The structure of solvate-free silver 5-nitrotetrazolate has been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction for the first time since it was prepared in 1978. Its structure and energetic performance were compared with other well-known silver energetic compounds, viz silver dinitramide, silver azide, and silver pentazolate. Its high thermal stability and very sensitive property make it a good candidate as a primary explosive.
